Dragon Fruit Project
In February 2023, DG-Bridge funded a dragon fruit project to help alleviate poverty and promote self-sustenance at Batang Pinangga, an orphan care centre in the Philippines, housing abandoned, abused and neglected children from the streets of Cebu province. The sustainable project was proposed by employees of Genashtim, a Singapore-based social enterprise, in conjunction with the company’s Sustainable Program for People Impact campaign. The idea was for the centre to plant 60 dragon fruit seedlings at the orphanage’s vegetable farm, from which the fresh produce becomes a potential source of income. A total of 150,000 pesos was donated to Batang Pinangga to fund the project. The video depicts the current progress of the dragon fruit farm, which is expected to bear fruit in the coming six months (June or July 2024).
Batang Pinangga expresses their appreciation and warmest holiday wishes to everyone.
