Synopsis:

Dg-Bridge offered management traineeship program to PWDs in Malaysia trained under the Hasanah Grant project supported by the Malaysian Government. Genashtim was awarded the grant to organise a training program for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) to enhance their skills in computer literacy and English language. Under this training programme, “Improving Quality of Disabled Community for Employability”, held from October 2020 until January 2021, 50 PWDs were selected and trained with the aim of increasing their employability in the job market during COVID-19.

Hasanah Grant – Empowering the Disempowered for via Sustainable Social Impact Efforts

Yayasan Hasanah is a foundation of Khazanah Nasional. In 2020, the organisation launched the Hasanah Special Grant (HSG), to support social initiatives in ameliorating the lives of the underprivileged. Besides poverty alleviation in B40 communities, HSG has also extended to the following marginalised groups from Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah, and Sarawak:

  • natives
  • refugees
  • senior citizens
  • the homeless
  • at risk children, women, and youth
  • Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) or people with special needs

Genashtim was awarded the grant which enabled them to organise a training program for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) to enhance their skills in computer literacy and English language. The training programme was titled “Improving Quality of Disabled Community for Employability. ” Held from October 2020 until January 2021, the training is aimed at increasing the employability of the selected 50 PWD trainees and to broaden their employment options.
